Toronto’s Global Marijuana March Coming Back To Queen’s Park This May - On 25th Anniversary of Original Event

Toronto, ON / April 4, 2024 — Legacy leaders of Toronto’s cannabis scene – pioneers in the fight for medical and recreational cannabis – recently announced the return of an important event in the culture:

After a long hiatus – years that included the many changes that recreational legalization brought to the scene, followed by the pandemic – the legendary GLOBAL MARIJUANA MARCH) will be back on the lawn of Queen’s Park on

After the traditional gathering on the lawn of the Ontario legislature buildings at Queen’s Park in Toronto, attendees will make their way through the downtown streets.   Some observers may question why cannabis enthusiasts are making their presence known in the way they did before the plant was legalized coast to coast.

“Celebrated in over 500 cities worldwide on the same day, the GMM is here to celebrate cannabis and culture,”  says Tapiero. “Much like LGBTQ pride celebrations continue after the country recognized gay marriages, The Global Marijuana March highlights cannabis culture in Canada and abroad, where is it still largely criminalized. In countries where it is legal there are still shortcomings and so we also highlight how people and opportunities fall between the cracks. And there is still stigma.”
