Dutchie Launches New Cannabis Delivery Solutions Via LeafLogix Point of Sale to Streamline Dispensary Operations & Meet Growing Customer Demand

Dutchie — the technology platform powering cannabis commerce — today announced the launch of new delivery solutions as a part of its LeafLogix point of sale offering to help streamline operations, reduce costs, and drive more revenue for dispensaries. The new bulk delivery solutions allow delivery operators to package multiple orders into single routes and to process several orders at a time.

“Our new solutions empower dispensaries to launch and manage their delivery service more efficiently and with less overhead,” said Zach Lipson, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer of Dutchie. “By reducing operational burdens while ensuring retailers remain compliant, we can help businesses drive more revenue and meet growing consumer demand.”

Cannabis delivery has boomed during the pandemic and demand continues to grow. According to a recent report, 60 percent of US cannabis transactions were delivered in 2021, up from 50 percent in 2020. Yet, cannabis delivery is complicated and expensive for many dispensaries, dissuading many from providing delivery services for their customers. A single delivery often requires the coordination of four systems – an online menu (ecommerce), POS, state traceability, and “last mile” GPS tracking. Because these systems are often not well integrated, they complicate workflows and create exorbitant costs.

Owning two critical systems in this journey – ecommerce and LeafLogix POS – uniquely equips Dutchie to fill the gap. Dutchie’s solutions are able to increasingly integrate delivery solutions, save on operational costs, remain compliant across varied state and local regulations, as well as grow dispensaries’ revenue and reach. Early participating retailers saw their number of transactions increase by 37 percent by reaching new consumers and saw average order values increase by 29 percent.

The new bulk delivery solutions make it easier for dispensaries to scale delivery options, save valuable time and money, and ensure compliance. Solution value-add includes:

  • Enhancing delivery route and fleet management options to support bulk delivery, versus single-order-only delivery.

  • Providing a more advanced bi-directional integration with “last mile” providers like OnFleet and state traceability systems to simplify information transfer and reduce data entries within the workflow.

  • Making quality control and compliance easier with return-to-store checklists.

  • Providing more data, insights, and reporting for operators to constantly improve customer experience.

Dutchie will soon expand their delivery support further by launching a “dynamic delivery” solution that allows cannabis delivery drivers to carry unordered inventory and receive new orders to process and deliver directly from their vehicle. This “ice cream truck” model further alleviates delivery strain and optimizes dispensary workflows. Dutchie aims to roll-out this solution in the first half of 2022.
