The inaugural Grow Up Conference and Expo held in Victoria last week from June 20-22, 2022, brought a legendary line-up of industry speakers to the stage, and hosted more than 3,000 people from across the globe. The successful three-day expo started with headlining speaker Jim Belushi, who spoke of his life experiences, which led him to pursue his passion for cannabis cultivation and his journey with Belushi’s Farm.
Randy Rowe, President of Grow Up Conference and Expo, was thrilled to see the turnout and engagement at the first B.C. show. “It was incredible to receive the warm welcoming of the Songhees Nation and Lekwungen People, along with the B.C. cannabis community, for the inaugural Grow Up Conference on the west coast. With both local and international industry veterans attending and speaking, there was electric energy throughout the busy three days. It truly shows the deep roots of cannabis in the province, and we look forward to coming back to B.C. for another show in 2023,” says Rowe.
Presented by leading packaging company ND Supplies, Kevin Lee, Vice President of Business Development, was thrilled to welcome the first Grow Up Conference and Expo on the west coast. “We are proud to help provide a platform on the West Coast where we can support incredible speakers and top experts in their field sharing their knowledge and wisdom. British Columbia has a long history of cannabis culture, and I was happy to see so many legends in attendance. This was an extremely well-curated event with invaluable relationship-building,” says Lee.
Closing keynote Ted Smith, Founder of the Victoria Cannabis Buyer’s Club, reflected on the road from legacy to legalization with expert lawyer Kirk Tousaw, sharing his views on the challenges and hurdles ahead for an inclusive, thriving cannabis industry in Canada.
