NordikLeaf, a medical grade cannabis company, today announced that it has signed a binding agreement to secure 25 acres of land in the greater Ottawa area, including over 41,000 square feet of warehouse and office space for the purposes of secure indoor cannabis cultivation.
On the heals of this real estate announcement, NordikLeaf intends to raise an additional $3 million by July 2019 to finance the construction of the first phase of its marijuana production facility in Perth, Ontario. After construction of four phases has been completed, the facility will support a total of 50,000 square feet on 25 acres of land, allowing for significant expansion ability as the Canadian cannabis industry continues to grow.
“NordikLeaf, having submitted its application to Health Canada to legally cultivate cannabis, is poised to move quickly to help satisfy the significant continuing undersupply in the industry. We have the team and experience, a thorough and complete site and security plan, and now the ideal real estate that provides for a long and exciting opportunity,” said James Mackenzie, Chief Executive Officer at NordikLeafTM.
“NordikLeaf will be creating close to one hundred new jobs in the area and bringing millions in construction dollars to local contractors benefiting not only them but also their families, all from our secured operations for years to come,” said Greg Black, NordikLeafTM Chief Operating Officer. “It takes time to build something properly, securely, and with the future in mind. This is exactly what we’ve been working on, and we are excited to begin engineering and construction this spring.”
